Summer reflections

Updated: Sep 5, 2020

There is no denying that Summer 2020 has been one of the most emotional seasonal periods we have experienced at Saramique Studio in the last 4 years.

Had someone suggested 12 months ago that a worldwide pandemic would side-swipe plans and pose threat to livelihoods, health and wellbeing...we would have raised an eyebrow or two and brushed it off as a fantastical movie plot, reserved for the cutting room floor.

So much has changed, for so many people, in so many different ways. No one person’s personal journey through this is any less valid than another’s. We can only reflect on our own journey however...and are in little doubt that the learning curves will continue, as we traverse toward the studio’s Autumn and Winter seasons.

One thing is for has been a season of the most brilliant brush bravery!!

We could not be more grateful to those who have visited and enjoyed pottery painting during the summer holidays; placing your trust in us and the measures that we have in place.

We are all for pulling out the positives and have had many discussions with families who‘s experience of the world in general has been enhanced by things like designated walkways and clear signage, such as our adult and children visitors who have autism. From a ‘back office’ perspective, many of the new systems are working so well, such as the new collections system, that we do question why we didn’t think of it before! 🤣

We move forward now, trialing new term time hours which offer 2 regular late nights for families who may want to visit after school or work...a great mid-week opportunity to get those Halloween and Christmas pots painted! We are also very much looking forward to bringing back the pottery making and you will see more on that in the coming weeks.

Please keep following, sharing and spreading the word about Saramique Studio...and of course, booking your own visits! Your support will be just as important, if not more so, in the coming months.

We hope everyone has managed to smile this Summer and we are excited to take you with us on our Autumn/Winter 2020 journey.

See you soon!
