Taking a break...
Our outdoor area has always been a private, peaceful place to take a mid-painting stretch or enjoy a coffee in the summer sun. With chalkboards and bubbles for the children (and grown ups!), it’s been a nice way to enjoy the fresh air (with pashminas available for when it’s really fresh!).
We looked at this space and realised it could be so much more! There are times (yes, even in the UK) when the sunshine draws us to outdoor activities and we knew that on those lovely days, there need not be a compromise between summer sun and pottery painting with family and friends!
The whole area has been cut back and blasted, to maximise the space available. The chalks area has been grassed, creating a soft under-feet space for our creators - chalkboards have been replaced with a bigger one to offer plenty of room for your fun doodles, crazy messages, or when you want to beat the kids at noughts and crosses! This area is positioned purposefully, as it is the only area of the garden which remains shaded for the majority of the day. The bubbles have also remained...these are a great favourite, no matter your age!
The bistro tables have been replaced with 6 seater picnic tables, hand painted in beautiful colours to get your imagination working! This is where your will have the option to paint outdoors, with plenty of room for you, your family and your equipment!
We appreciate that should you be painting outside, you will be spending a greater amount of time in the sunshine and so we have installed sail shades to create shaded areas in different parts of the garden as the sun moves round from morning to early evening. The pashminas are still to hand, should you wish to cover up in a chill or in the blazing sun. We have some Saramique Studio caps on their way for the kids to use, should they need head protection AND we are also adding a handy wall pump with 50 factor sun cream for your free-use, just in case you have forgotten your own!
Added to that some bright and fun accessories to make guests smile! We very much look forward to seeing you guys enjoy painting in the great outdoors and to having the option to host our workshops in that summer sun.
This space will no doubt evolve with your feedback and as time passes, but we sure are super pleased with this new creative space, and we hope you will be too!
